MISC: Trevor rarely dresses to impress in spite of his financial affluence. His attire is often modest, forgoing any visible jewelry or sign of wealth.
Due to an injury sustained in his younger years, Trevor walks with a rigid posture and occasionally, especially during cold weather, a limp.
PERSONALITY: Although his affluent upbringing offered him a life of decadence and luxury, Trevor chose to set out on his own. He's a strong willed individual who's equally at ease in the presence of kings or beggars. He always seems to have a smirk on his face that implies he knows something others don't; usually because he does. He navigates the Rat's Nest and the Palladium Square with a confidant ease and is rarely shaken or seems out of control of any given situation.
In spite of his outwardly modest appearance, Trevor is prone to bouts of arrogance. His pride has been the bane of his existence. He has a habit of underestimating those around him which has led to disastrous results. Hubris, at times, has made him act as though he's untouchable by any moral or legal authority causing him to take unnecessary risks that have threatened his status and well being.----------------------------------------------------------------------------- the history --
The Marin family is a branch of the DeAlkirk line of Astilionian royalty. His mother was the youngest daughter of the late King Osric DeAlkirk, making the reigning Astilonian monarch Trevor's cousin. Even though he was of royal blood, Trevor's family had been alienated from the DeAlkirk line through his mother's insistence on marrying a wealthy merchant from Goldcrest as opposed to a man of similar status.
As displaced royalty the Marin family claims no land or authority in the eyes of the Astilonian monarchy. Their rank, affluence and status was earned through business, rather than appointed through blood.
From an early age Trevor had been fascinated with trade and commerce. He studied under his father, learning the ins and outs of business and the art of negotiating. Even though he has been aware of his family's true lineage, he never speaks if it, preferring to be judged based upon his actions and not his bloodline.
Upon losing both of his parents during the blight of war, Trevor assumed control of his father's assets. He proved to be adept at the less than savory aspects of business as he found the Mariner's Union and Merrill's Marauders as frequent collaborators. Whispers of a partnership with the mysterious thieves guild arise every so often, though no allegations had ever been levied.
Today Trevor lives in the Palladium Square. His personal and estate staff is almost exclusively from the ranks of refugees that had found their way to Goldcrest. He's among the more well known merchants in the area, dealing mostly in importing and exporting goods. He owns a small fleet of his own cargo ships that ferry people and goods across Thrella.
Trevor carries two secrets he will carry to the grave. The first being his lineage. Trevor holds no allegiances to anyone save himself, especially the arrogant royals who shunned his mother for having the courage to follow her heart instead of bowing to their will. The second revolves around his involvement with the thieves guild. He is, in fact, a former, active member. During a botched job he was seriously injured, leading to an early retirement. In the years since he has worked his way up to the top of the ranks, finding himself much more proficient in the backroom dealings of the guild than the executing jobs.----------------------------------------------------------------------------- the player --
