From birth, she was a tool. A fail-safe if everything went wrong. Something to be used in the future only after failure. She was sent from Coterie as a babe. Secreted away. Every trace erased. A loyalist took her. He was to train her. Turn her into the tool her real family would need should the conquest fail. Talia was not raised. She was trained. Trained to be the best killer she could be.She took the name Bracken. Given to her by her “father.” Another disguise to fit their story. To the rest of the world she was from Astilon. The daughter of a trapper. Living far out in the woods with no mother or siblings. When the war started, they moved. Went closer to Goldcrest. Meanwhile, she developed. Learned to lie. Learned to smile. Learned to fake emotions until there was no telling the difference between genuine and not. She was becoming exactly what her real family wanted her to be. A unassuming blade in the dark.
Word came. The Coterie had been defeated. The head families destroyed. Slaughtered. Talia had been a well placed plan. With the struggle for power back in her homeland, she was an unknown advantage. A hidden hand. A closely held card. And soon she’d come very much in handy. But first, she had to get into a better position. So she went to Goldcrest. The city itself.Years passed. Talia grew. Established herself. Made herself a name. Both in the underground and above. She openly worked at the Honeybrew Meadery. A place she could get closer to the higher-ups of the city. Where she could glean information without suspicion. Rarely did anyone look far past her smile. And if they did, it was no use. Her story was too concrete. Everything thought out and established. She was Talia Braken. In the daylight. But in the shadows, she was a whisper. A movement out of the corner of one’s eye. She was death with a disarming smile.----------------------------------------------------------------------------- the player --
