PERSONALITY:
A woman motivated by passion but hindered by self-doubt, Erin is a sensitive woman who tends to live by the will of her emotions.
Kind, generous, and compassionate she goes out of her way to make others happy, even if it makes her a door-mat in the process. That being said, her fragility fades when met with conflict. Short-tempered and easily offended, Erin will do everything in her power to protect herself from other people's opinions, even if that means dealing the lowest blow.
She has an insatiable urge to be liked and will bend to any sort of positive attention, regardless of who gives it to her. Erin has a tendency to switch off from the world around her. She’s good at internalizing things and minding her own business. The young woman has established a lifestyle that has somehow fallen short of her childhood dreams, and while being disappointed with all her short-comings she tends to shy away from change.
Erin’s life is a gigantic bubble of uncertainty. The young woman has always teetered on the borderline between empowerment and crippling self-consciousness. Erin can count the number of times she’s reached her true potential on one hand, and because of this she lives in a perpetual state of frustration from being too scared to take control and go after what she really wants.----------------------------------------------------------------------------- the history --
Born in Goldcrest, Erin's childhood was a staunch mixture of love and tragedy. She spent her earliest years surrounded by a family she cherished. She looked to her parents as shining examples of what she could one day become while the constant companionship of her siblings kept the sting of loneliness at bay. Erin and her brother and sister were quite young when they came across a boy on the run from his tyrannical father. He sought sanctuary and found it in the Vivant's generosity. Not long after, a plague swept through the outlying villages of Goldcrest and their fragile mother's strength shattered. Succumbing to the sickness, she died with family watching. To this day, Erin battles with the idea that she could have prevented her mother's death, if only she'd had the healing knowledge then that she did now. Left as a single father to four children, Victor attempted to raise them all as best he could, and Erin will always respect his painstaking efforts.
Her careful, nervous nature caused her to become slightly detached from her more boisterous siblings, and as they entered their adolescence Erin found herself straying further and further from their company. The older they got, the less she and her siblings had in common. Solomon, their adopted brother, was disturbed by the brutal rise of the Coterie, and had grown sick with righteous purpose. Dorian followed blindly in his footsteps. Joselyn did the same, but for reasons other than moral piety. Dorian was infected with loyalty, but her sister had fallen to a different kind of contagion -- love. Erin did not judge them for their feelings or decisions, for she felt the same, but she found their violent outrage too abrasive to support. It was only when their actions spiraled out of control did she feel the need to intervene, but at that point all hope of making her siblings see sense was gone.
Solomon and Dorian's need to rid the world of evil cost their father his life. Bristling with discontent and wanting to practice their fighting skills, the two brothers sought out and attacked a group of bandits. Wildly unprepared, they were saved only by their father's sacrifice, fleeing the scene as the bandits sliced him to ribbons. From that point on, Erin felt far less willing to play the part of loving sister. A resentment festered in her soul, for without their foolish actions, Victor would still be alive. After Victor's death, the siblings split apart. Erin could see the monster Solomon had become and she wanted no part of it. Wandering off, she avoided the rising tension by running away, trying to find a different life for herself in the more populated areas of Goldcrest to become a Caretaker. Still, she couldn't cut her ties from her siblings completely, and she writes them often, hoping one day that their opinions will change.----------------------------------------------------------------------------- the player --
