Growing up, Kade never knew he was a mage. The only thing that anyone ever thought made him special was his snarky personality and his good looks.
He was used to getting everything he wanted. He had a smooth way with words and a charismatic sarcasm that people found pleasing even after every insult he threw at them for his pleasure. Well, by people, it was more ladies. He has a tendency to womanize. Those on the opposite side found Kade intimidating and were jealous, mostly.
As he got older, it even gave him a cockiness and arrogance that he somehow turned charming as well. It was the seemingly light hearted attitude about everything that made people brush off whatever remarks or overly blunt things he could spew.
With his father dead, Kade grew up taking care of his mother as she worked as a maid at the local inn to put food on the table. Emotionally, he had to be the parent. Helen didn't deal with the stress of being a single parent very well. That, in a lot of ways, matured Kade immensely.
They're relationship was special. She thought they were inseparable. At least, that's what she thought until he was around 17 and discovered his magical abilities.
His was naive, at first. Much like he was and is about everything. Unpredictable. Reckless. For Kade, he could control the bursts of power. He just couldn't control what would happen or how big it would happen. He played with it like most. Until one day, when he was around nineteen, he had blown over a merchant's cart after an argument over the price of a gem necklace he wanted for his mother.
In any other situation, the man would have gotten a blow to the face. But, Kade remembered his new abilities. He didn't always remembered. They would fade for months at a time and go completely dead. He kept them a secret of course but with that it wasn't hard.
Anyways, one thing led to the next and Kade was dragged away to Enclave. Kade's mother balled and balled but nonetheless Kade was forced to study. His natural magi drew towards the 'Forces' end of magic. He learned quickly. Too quickly for the Enclave. They feared him, really. He reminded them of the enemy. He drew his power from somewhere dark. His abilities, however, didn't get over looked in the positive. As they grew, someone noticed. A loyalist. Th kind that Kade had been told to stay away from. That they were insane. He thought so too at first.
He could already telekinetically blast someone with a burst of invisible energy. He could already move objects with his mind. Could the unimaginable power the man in the hood spoke of really be true? He would tell about it every day Kade went out into the city
He already hated the school and the strictness of it all. He was and is much more of a... free spirit, if you will. Kade couldn't stand not knowing what truly lied out in the world of magic beyond the walls of the Enclave. The figurative walls, of course.
He had already wanted to leave and this was the perfect excuse. A trip out to the market place for some new boots would surely shake off any suspicion the guards had of Kade's escape. He managed to evade out to the woods, climbed a tree, and camped out for around two days before coming down. They needed to think he was long gone. He needed to disappear.
Since then, Kade had been evading the Chevaliers in hopes of living a life outside of the law with his newly harness abilities.----------------------------------------------------------------------------- the player --
