HAIR COLOR: Brown
EYE COLOR: Hazel
MISC: A curved scar is prominent on the left side of her forehead. She is often seen in a patchwork coat and dresses very much as if she were a boy. Her hair rolls into the tight curls but is kept short enough to cram underneath a cap.
PERSONALITY: Scarlet can hold a grudge like no one else. If a person has done wrong by her than they better be prepared to either avoid her for fear of a knife being thrown at them or try to repent for whatever they have done. Scarlet is quick to anger, normally it can push her into a fit of rage.
Although she pushes out a facade of being fearless and act as though she was some kind of legendary thief or some mastermind criminal, Scarlet is actually a soft and otherwise quiet girl. In fact after her time stuck with her aunt, Scarlet lost all confidence and built up a bubbling anger at the world.----------------------------------------------------------------------------- the history --Now, where does any good story start?
With the tragic death of parents?
The loss of all immediate family?
Or the lonely child being sent to an oppressive aunt?
Or perhaps we should start at the start?
Yes that seems like a good place.
Scarlet was born as the youngest of 4 children and the only girl. The Blackwell family was a well established family within Therin. Her father, Roland Blackwell, was a decorated military leader who had long since retired and invested in a group of traders. Her mother, Serena Blackwell, the daughter of a prominent trader. The family lived a happy and comfortable life. Scarlet's brothers were old enough to enlist so left the family home when she was 8.
All was well in the life of Scarlet Blackwell.
But as with any story we can't end it with 'They all lived happily ever after'. No it simply got fucked up.
Her aunt was the older sister to her mother but had had a hard time to find a husband, she was simply classified by the families of Therin as a Shrew. To say she was jealous of her younger sister is an understatement. This was something which her husband manipulated, for he knew if that side of the family was...dealt with, the property would fall to them.
And so it was that a spate of 'accidents' occurred. A mistake was made by a doctor, slashing the artery of one brother. A barber slipped and slit the throat of another. A building accident led to her final brother being crushed. A burglar broke in and murdered Scarlet's parents in their beds.
But what would happen to Scarlet?
To poor alone Scarlet?
Well most of Therin had their suspicions about the 'accidents' but none of them had proof. This did force the aunt and her husband to rethink their plan. So they took in Scarlet, treated her like she was worthless. Crushed any confidence she had. Made her think she was nothing to anyone.
They moved to Goldcrest when she turned 13, mainly to lower the suspicions those in Therin had. On the way to Goldcrest they stopped in a tavern as accommodation was sorted and Scarlet took advantage of this and ran.
She kept on running.
Until she was lost in the backstreets and drug dens of Goldcrest, where she has had to learn how to survive by herself.----------------------------------------------------------------------------- the player --
