PERSONALITY: Maternal and nurturing, Grayson easily sees the good in others even when there is no good in them. Loyal to a fault, she refuses to believe that anyone is trying to hurt her or would leave her. She is very reserved and is a little frightened of human contact, which is a bit of a problem given the fact that she craves it. Even with the people she grew up with, Grayson keeps them at arms' length.
In certain cases, Grayson is as naive as a child and though one would hardly claim she led a charmed life, Grayson's optimism paints a similar picture.
Grayson's determination in honing her craft is well known in her very small circle of confidantes and although she can be a bit of an oddball, there is no question whether she takes her craft seriously. She can sometimes even lose herself in it.----------------------------------------------------------------------------- the history --
Life before the Enclave was a blur for Grayson. All she knew was she was shipped off from Abrea to stay with people other than her family for her own protection at a very young age. She was sent letters every other month from her parents and what she knew of them and her childhood were detailed in those letters. The parchment yellowed and curled at the edges from the numerous times she would devour it whenever she got the chance.
Her seventh summer, she found out that she was to be a big sister. She remembered crying herself to sleep wishing she could be there with her family to welcome the little one but the changes in her were even scarier than she had imagined so she spent the time she had imagined helping her mother around the house trying to reel in the power that was ever growing in her.
The letters were a constant reminder that she had family who indeed loved her and that kept her sane. Especially when her little sister also started writing to her in very clumsy penmanship, smudged ink and barely legible scribbles. She cherished the letters, hoping that one day, she would be able to return to them.
But the letters stopped. Try as she might, Grayson's optimism could not bear the crushing weight of the thought that her family had perished. With nothing else to look forward to, Grayson joined the ranks of Enclave mages who had chosen to march in opposition of the Coterie.
It was during the time she devoted to healing the wounded that the self-inflicted scars began to appear. She knew the consequences of performing high level spells could be dire but if she could save the wounded from suffering the same fate she thought her family had suffered, it could give her the peace of mind she needed. The scars were a constant reminder that life was far too precious. Even with all the horrors she had seen, at least she could go to bed knowing one less person would be without family.----------------------------------------------------------------------------- the player --
