Damn this woman. Damn this ship. Damn pirates she thought bitterly as she leant against the edge of the ship, with had gently began rocking to and fro after it hit some predictably choppy waters. Despite being the daughter of one of the most celebrated admirals in Goldcrest, Ellen HATED the water. Hated it with a single-minded purpose. Ever since she was a small child ...she wouldn’t call it a phobia oh no no...NEVER of course it wasn’t, and the idea that it was a fear was totally laugh about…
It all started when she was five years old and she was leaning over the edge of the boat too sharply.
One thing lead to another…
She sank under the water like a stone and would have most likely kept sinking to a watery grave if her father didn’t reach in and grab her by the scuff of the neck at the last moment and pulled her out cold and shivering like a puppy..what followed was weeks clad in blankets trying to contain her cold….
So the fact that Ellen was surrounded with water wasn’t exactly comforting, for the most part she could contain her anxiety….but on choppy seas like this, her anxiety would get to her...So she sat there in her room head bowed waiting for it to pass

The crew, thankfully, were more often then not too engrossed in keeping the ship afloat to pay much attention to Felix, which of course he was using to his full advantage. He knew he needed to locate Ellen, make sure she was well, and assure her that at least one person on board was completely on her side... Not that he supposed she'd act as though she was pleased to see him, but the noble was more then used to that. Ellen had never been... The warmest of people; And even that in itself was an understatement. The two had been pushed together by their heavily hinting families even before the war was declared over, and while both of them frankly wanted nothing less, Felix had quickly grown fond of the seemingly uncaring young woman.
He took his time, gradually moving closer to where he'd gathered the lady was being kept, waiting for a lull in crew around the room in question, before making his move. It seemed that while loyal to their Captain, some of the crew weren't the most intelligent of Goldcrest citizens... Well that or they didn't much enjoy being given prisoner duty, and would take any excuse to get out being near Ellen... Since after assuring the man at the lady's door that he was there to take over from him, he left without protest. The guardsman waited, before taking the key he'd been handed and slowly unlocking the wooden door. "Ellen?" He spoke softly, pushing it open gently and taking a look inside the room.
The lady Orland was looking the worse for wear, but aside from the sickly tinge to her complexion, appeared relatively unharmed. Felix let out a sigh, before casting a quick glance over his shoulder and quickly slipping into the room, shutting the door behind him. "What is a lady like you doing in a place like this, Lady Orland?" He spoke light heartedly, giving her his usual warm grin. "... I'm glad that you're unharmed."
She was ok, she was ok…..This was the mantra Ellen kept repeating to herself in her head as the waves crashed and rocked against the ship like it was making a conscience attempt to make Ellen wish for the sharp relief of death, The old familiar queasy feeling overtaking her entire body as she held on to the desk for dear life trying to keep her knees from buckling or knocking together, she was used to the feeling of sea sickness but never to THIS kind of extream. But then again she never really knew what it was like to feel the sea’s powerful embrace before….
She was certainly figuring that out by now…..
She was so out of it that what she saw she could have sworn was somekind of hullutinatibated because she could have sworned that she just heardthe voice of…..
“Felix?!” She muttered holding her head up with clear surprise on her face. She looked up at the boy just taking in his form before sighing wistfully to herself “I never...EVER thought I would sy this but I’m glad to see you!”

Unharmed, maybe, but clearly far from well, Ellen looked as though her time at sea had clearly already taken it's toll; Odd given her Father's position, but Felix had long known about the young woman's poor relationship with the ocean, and here it seemed to be inflicting upon her with full force. "I shall take that as a compliment," He grinned, a little surprised at her reaction, approaching the admiral's daughter and bending down to her level, taking in the sickly glaze over her skin; She really didn't look well. His expression shifted from relief to gentle concern, and he quickly placed a hand on her shoulder to make some effort to steady her. "... How are you feeling? I mean, aside from the obvious whole... Sea sickness... thing?" He prompted, taking a quick glance over her to check for any injury he may not have seen when he first walked in, his brow furrowing. "... How did you get yourself involved in all this, Ellen?" He spoke gently, giving out a soft sigh.
Felix still was uncertain on how she managed to get herself kidnapped in the first place... And what if anything she knew about the Captain's intentions with her. Felix had assumed thus far it was all to do with money, that Ellen was being held for the sake of coin; But to travel as they had to the dark shores of the Shattered Isles... There had to be more to this then a mere ransom, surely?
Yes. It was unusual.Thank you for pointing that out Felix, because Ellen didn’t think that was strange at all, that she was afraid of the water and yet her father was one of the most decorated admirals in the capital yet. Ellen got shivers everything she smelled the salt water. No that wasn’t a source of insecurity at all for Ellen the fact, that she couldn’t follow at all in his footsteps, that as a child she couldn’t help but notice her father’s look of derision every time Ellen started to panic going near the water, it wasn’t a personal point of shame for Ellen that she didn’t even know how to swim. So yes Felix, it was “odd” “It was an “Odd” thing “It was an oddity that should not be and Ellen hated that she had it.
Yes, despite herself she was glad to see Felix. Don’t get her wrong tere was quite a long list of people she’d perfer seing in front of her. But Felix WAS a guard. And logically speaking there was only one logical explaination why he would be here….Ellen was saved, and her pleasure seeing him was mostly a by product of that.
….Even if he still insisted on saying stupid things…..
Ellen flinched a little at the hand on her should as always not a fan of physical contact frowning at Felix “You mean besides the obvious being kidnapped and held against my will thing?” She snapped, god he was so dense sometimes, she didn’t know what her father saw in him, most likely a wealthy family.
“Well it wasn’t like it had a choice” she recounted bitterly “They came for my father...but he wasn’t there….I was” She shrugged trying to get back to her feet “I’m just glad it’s over. I assume that my father is out there with you? I need to speak to him, I need to tell him to pay EXTRA attention to the captain” She said with a slight devilish smirk
