THE BLACK DAGGER
The Black Dagger is formerly most known for being an unique looking ship. While most ships are various shades of brown, all depending on the wood used, the Black Dagger is said to have used wood drifted from the Shattered Isles, then gathered and built into a small, but sturdy ship. Naturally, many still believe this to be myth and say that the ship has painted their ship dark to look more alluring. Some even think that the Black Dagger bring with it nothing but death and back luck, though that has never been proven. Because of the wood some claim to be from the Shattered Isles some seem to think the ship itself has magical properties. Considering how no one truly knows the age of the ship, this has been deemed as impossible.
With the black body of the ship, the sails are pure white, creating quite the astonishing contrast. The ship isn't one of the biggest, but it is known for its speed and the way it seemingly glides with ease over the sea.
The Black Dagger has been the home of many captains as well as various crew members. The first (known) captain was Fitzgerald The Mad, whom according to rumors, refused to let the ship go over to someone else's control and legend has it that his undoing was his own stupidity. The crew committed mutiny and the ship was from there given to Silas Rudd, whom ruled for only a few years before he died to Water Elf Disease and suffered sores, blackened nails and watery eyes. It was believed to be caused by a witch’s stab. Sadly, Silas Rudd did not believe in a cure and refused to ingest a dozen different plants and herbs that were soaked in ale.
The command was given to his son, Jagger Rudd. Jagger Rudd grew to become a very loved and wise captain, quickly claiming his continued captain role on a pirate ship. Jagger Rudd was the captain of the Black Dagger from his early thirties upon his death, which was when the Black Dagger got their very first female captain, a young mistress whom no one really knew from whence came. The young mistress quickly became adored by the previous captain and he taught her everything she could possibly come to know.
The rumors of the Black Dagger's captain being a young woman, barely having reached her mid-twenties caused quite the ruckus, both within the ship's walls and around town. The young woman continued proving herself (which she still does up to this point) and is slowly and gradually earning the trust and respect of her crew.
The Black Dagger is notoriously known for being a pirate ship that both plunders and searches for treasure, and also picks up whatever deals and shipment they can find around the world of Thrella. The Black Dagger has met both praise, suspicious and competition over the years, but remains to be one of the most well known ships around the docks of Goldcrest - most due to its unique appearance and crew.
