MISC: She does have one tattoo (shown below). She found it in one of the books she was studying. The description was unreadable however the title was intact. "The Death Rose" like many other tattoos in the book were meant to have magical properties. However, they must be activated through some sort of chant or spell. For her however she just enjoyed the what it looked like.When in public, Katelyn tries to cover her head with a simple black scarf. Aside from that her adventurous clothes would be leather top to bottom alongside a robe to cover her armor and appear weak. When she was shipped off (Explanation in her Story) she had an amulet in which her mother gave her(Shown below). Not much is known about this amulet, but for Katelyn is it just something to remember her mother by. She also uses an alias known as Elise Alevi.
PERSONALITY: Katelyn is a very caring person, despite studying Necromancy and Entropy. She will always try to help her friends and those in need, however in doing so she often trusts the wrong people . Katelyn enjoys the little things in life, such as a good meal or a walk in the middle of the night. That being said she does love a god adrenaline rush, staring Death in the eyes only makes her stronger in a situation. She is also free spirited, which can explain her hatred for politics. Anybody who tries to put other people down to bring themselves up is nothing but pathetic to her. Katelyn follows the rule , "treat others the way you'd want to be treated", until that person prove themselves as being intolerable and or just being an annoyance she will show her mood with attitude. Being as smart as she is, she is very curious which can also be dangerous.
Katelyn is very smart, and knowledgeable when it comes to magic (Necromancy)and alchemy(Reading books) . Being raised on a farm and not having much physical strength she would help her adoptive mother with the groceries and trading. She might not be a good saleswoman, but she does know how to read people. She learn how to fight with a sword ever so slightly with the kids form the neighboring farms. She also learn how to use a bow from her adoptive father(Again only basics). She also learn a thing or too from the kids in the city, like how to pick someones pocket. Katelyn has learn something over the years known as perception. Weather it's her eyes or her ears she tries to gather up as much information as she can. She has a thirst for knowledge.
Katelyn does have a soft spot for the weak, this includes beggars,children or just people in general distress. Surprisingly as caring as she is, she does have an anger problem. When she is angry she will "tunnel vision" and most probably take violent action upon the person (Or people) or the location in the situation. Because of the power of her magic (Explanation in background story) , she might lose control over it when she is angered to a certain point. She also strongly believes in revenge and vengeance. She has a hatred towards the Chevalier because she believes they wrongfully killed her parents. However, she wishes to end this without bloodshed, which is where Katelyn is torn between two minds. Kill everyone and everything proving the stereotype of Necromancers or bring those involved with her parents murder to justice and trying to change society as we know it.
Katelyn's fears are few and many. Spiders, heights, creepy men. She has many discomforts but true fears, only one. Because of what her family has done in the past and what they are known for, she is afraid of being rejected by those she loves. Afraid of not being accepted by the masses. This is why, despite her studies in Necromancy she tries to be the person that children look up to, the one who saved the princess, the who's name will bring hope throughout the land. She doesn't want to be known as the one who can bring nothing but destruction and death to all. This fear is also applied to her general feelings. She can be hurt fairly easily by words, if they don't anger her, they bring sadness.
Katelyn's desires are as complex as they come. She wants to be accepted by society for what she does, not who she is. She also would love the learn about everything and anything about the world. Her one true desire is wanting revenge for her family without bloodshed and proving that her family was murdered for all the wrong reasons. She wants to prove to society that you shouldn't judge a person on what they study or what they are, but the way they act with others.
Because of Katelyn's endless battle between her mind(Anger and vengeance) and her heart (Justice and changing society) she has had a few breakdowns. During these breakdowns she tends to run off to an abandoned cave only to lash out and use her magic uncontrollably until she is no longer conscious. She generally wakes up without memory of the incident, however there are enough clues left behind for her to puzzle some things together. It has never happened that she had a breakdown in a populated area, and she hopes it never does happen.----------------------------------------------------------------------------- the history --
Katelyn Ravenot was born in a small manor South West of Goldcrest. Both of her parent were Necromancers who believe that Death sent them on a mission. The Ravenot family was assigned to kill all who misuse the magic of Necromancy for their own personal needs.(Such as raising an army) They believed that Necromancy is like any other school of magic, it has it's bad sides as well as it's good sides, however all believe that Necromancy is blasphemy and should be banned. The Ravenot family believe if they can do good things with their "dark" magic, they might change the way people think. Kalista Ravenot (Katelyn's mother) would go from town to town and be presented as a medium. Someone who can speak to the dead to help those living and dead find peace. Her father preferred using his abilities to stop vile and corrupted necromancers form getting too strong. As their powers grew stronger so did the rumors of their existence. The Order could not stand for this. They believe all forms of necromancy is evil. One night they assaulted the manor, killing both Katelyn's father and mother. However Kalista did not want her newborn to grow without knowing who she is really capable of. Kalista was able to send Katelyn , a few very rare necromancer books and her own journal (Kalista's)in a basket along the river. Kaitlyn was only a few months old. when the event occurred.
The river lead to a small farming village closer to Goldcrest, where a family took her in. The Alevi's were a simple family, Sarah and Marcus Alevi were a very loving couple and they knew who this little girl was. You see, Sarah was only ever able to have one child, after that she got sick and she was told she could never have children again. At the age of 12 their only son William, went missing. One day Kalista came into town and heard whispers from a ghost explaining who he was. Kalista had to give the grave news to the Sarah and Marcus. After they found the body, (Kalista was told where to find it by William) they knew that they could find peace. They thanked Kalista for giving them closure. Kalista couldnt keep her secret very long, she told them what she was and how she wanted to help change society. The Alevi's admired such goal and accepted to help her if ever she needed it. Which is where her story begins, Katelyn's that is. The Alevi's wanted to repay a debt and in the process they would receive a child to love.
It was a good thing that Sarah was similar to Kalista in attitude . Sarah always wanted for Katelyn's to thrive and to succeed. Growing up, Katelyn loved learning, when she would accompany her mother to Goldcrest to sell their goods( Produce), Sarah would often get her one or two books either about the world, a language or magic. Sarah also thought that Katelyn needed another name, she would call her Katelyn in private and Elise in public. Kate didn't understand why but for her, she thought it was a second name and enjoyed it.Because of her family roots, Katelyn was unable to learn any other type of magic, she tried and tried again. Sarah saw the difficulties she had so gave her one the books that came with her. Easily enough Katelyn was a natural at it. By the age of 9 she was able to create horrors with the bones she collected in the fields. Her parents told her to keep this a secret and she didn't understand at the time why but she kept it. As the years went by she made friends with the townsfolk and hanging out with kids her own age and eventually learned a few things from them. At the age of 18 her parents told her the truth and gave Katelyn her mother's journal. It gave her all the answers and made her shed tears of sadness. She still considered Sarah and Marcus as her parents and stayed with them for a few more years.
At the age of 20 , she took on her parents mission and tried to cleanse the lands of necromancy and rogue mages. it started off dangerous but as she got old, her powers grew and she was able to learn abilities that some may say were impossible. In the books that her mother gave her there is no information about her necklace, Kate thinks it's just something to remember her mother by, however it could likely be much more. After a few years of experience of hunting, she wanted to move to Goldcrest in search of a few people who wish to help her in her quest to bring justice to the Order and change society as they know it.----------------------------------------------------------------------------- the player --
