MISC: Felix has a few scars from training and the occasional scape with the unlawful. When not in his city guard uniform, Felix wears decent but not overly "noble" clothing, unless he has to while meeting his mother or attending some form of social event. He wears his Father's signet ring which was left behind before his last battle, which displays the Alstion crest.
PERSONALITY: Fun, upbeat and lighthearted, Felix generally doesn’t take life too seriously and sees little value in wallowing in any form of self pity. Although he claims to be an open book, he chooses to hide certain information from others if he feels it’s in their benefit to do so, weather this is information about himself or other people.
Felix takes life in his stride, giving off a bright and fun loving atmosphere. He bonds exceedingly well with others, and much prefers spending time in the public eye, hoping that his presence with install some form of hope in the people of Goldcrest, however slight. While he does enjoy the spotlight, it isn’t something he goes out to purposefully look for. He’s fairly social, but only chooses to spend an extensive amount of time with close friends, preferring to relax with one person that means a lot to him as apposed to being in a large social gathering.
The guard mean a lot to Felix, and he's fully invested in what they stand for. He has a high moral compass, but a fairly level head, meaning that while he will fight to uphold the laws of Goldcrest, his own personal morals outweigh those of the guard.
Having grown up a noble, Felix hasn’t had to cope with going without; this is however something that he doesn’t like to play on. He’s the most down to earth of his siblings and will often avoid giving his last name to strangers.
When it comes to personal relationships, Felix is generally welcoming and friendly to all who come across him; at least at first. While he can take an extensive amount of personal knockbacks, and easily dismisses anyone being aggressive towards him, he won’t see it being done to someone else. He cares for others extensively, easily allowing himself to be hurt and to worry about those he cares for. He has a habit of taking on their personal battles as his own too, choosing to stay by their side even if the outcome will harm himself. He’s emotionally strong, making it relatively easy for him to deal with a lot of issues from others at once. He often feels that others don’t take his feelings into consideration, due to his general care free attitude. He holds a great consideration for others, often going above and beyond for someone in order to make them feel better or to solve a problem for them.
Despite his readiness to take on any of his friends’ problems, Felix is sensitive about his own. His easy going personality hides his insecurities, his worries and his fears. The feelings of others and their wellbeing is generally viewed as more important then his own. He sees himself as a necessary pillar of resolve, since so many around him due to the current political state are unstable; this leaves him often feeling emotionally drained, but he often refuses to show this or inform anyone else if he’s struggling.----------------------------------------------------------------------------- the history --
Felix was born during the great conflict, to the Duke Andrew Whitegate and his Duchess wife, Valentina Whitegate. Valentina is the sister of the late King of Astilon, and the noble couple lived within the region's inner sanctum. The threat of war felt to the Duchess especially as some flight of fancy, nothing to be worried about and certainly not something to consider as a serious possibility.
That was until the declaration came, and soon after, their King called for the signing of the Accord.
The Duke joined the King's side, having held a Captain's position within the Astilon army, much to his wife's dismay, leaving her to care for and raise Felix in the height of war with her husband away fighting. The death of her beloved brother on the battlefield hit the Duchess hard, and although she kept it to herself, felt as though her husband should have taken the military reins over his under experienced warrior son.
Felix spent most of his early life kept under the protective umbrella of his mother and her family, rarely leaving home, and frequently told of his Father's bravery on the battlefield. With so many of his fellow noble born fearing the violence that grew increasingly close to their boarders, Felix grew to become a pillar of strength, often taking on the role of a babysitter for his younger cousins while the adults were desperately trying to keep a tight hold of the region and hold back the Coterie forces.
When he was nine years old, his mother became pregnant, and gave birth to twins Travis and Priscilla.
Once he was around 11 years old, Felix began to train in hand to hand combat and bladed weaponry; His mother was desperate for him to continue life as though war was not raging, and spent time teaching her eldest son manners and formal etiquette. As time went on however, the family often had to move from safehouse to safehouse as the attacks by the Coterie increased. At 18, Felix was pushed to join the fight with his Father by other members of the nobility, which he refused; To him, his mother and siblings needed him far more, which caused unsavoury opinions towards the young noble by a number of his extended family.
At 20 years old, word came to Felix and his family that the war had ended, and despite the harsh and cruel strikes Astilon had taken, it had endured; This victory was however short lived for Felix as news came not only of his Father's heroic actions, but also of his death. The Duke had been one of those whom had gone to halt the ritual of the Coterie, loosing his life in the process, which devastated the family.
As their once grand region began to rebuild itself, it became obvious that a number didn't feel as though the current crown prince was suited for his current role. The Duchess, who moved her family to Goldcrest to represent their region, despite Felix's lack of experience, began discussing with other nobles that her son should be considered to fill the position; The son not only of noble blood, but the son of one of the region's great heroes of the war. This is far from something Felix wanted, and came to resent the horribly high bar his Father set, and instead selected a different course. He had seen the chaos the war had left in it's wake, and he wanted to help others, especially the common people, as much as he was able. He chose to offer his sword skills to the ranks of Goldcrest's city guard, much to his mother's dismay.
While his mother continues to push her son to marry another noble and make a play for the throne, Felix has settled in perfectly in his role as a member of the city guard; Part of him wonders if his true calling however lies with the Chevaliers, as he feels joining them may be of greater value, as he feels he could better help prevent another uprising of the Coterie.----------------------------------------------------------------------------- the player --
