Scarlet sighed as she stared at the meager plate that lay in front of her. It smelled repugnant, like over-stewed rotten vegetable...probably because it was over-stewed rotten vegetables. With the food being even less edible than normal Scarlet turned her attention to the packed bar , taking in each of the patrons from her darkened corner. It was the usual combination of people down on their luck and criminals. She recognized most of the patrons but she was positive they wouldn't recognize her. That was a fact she always made sure of.
No one of particular interest struck her as she scanned the room. There was the creepy stalker guy who often paid for information on girls and a couple other clients she knew. So lost in thought was Scarlet that she didn't notice as a shadowed figure took a seat across from her. She flicked her eyes at the person and frowned, dropping her voice an octave lower "Did I invite you to sit down?"
Bo looked up at the other girl sitting across from her. She hadn't even noticed someone else was at the table. Nor did she frankly care, so she treated the girl to a sneer. "Does it look like I give a shit if you did or not?" With that Bo looked down at her meal and started eating. She'd gotten used to the awful quality of the food.
That and not questioning where the meat came from.
Her eyes glanced around and took in some of the others from the shadowy corner. She pointed to the stalker with her spoon. "Besides, you expect me to sit with some shit head like that guy or something? I'd rather take my chances with someone else who looks like a brat too."

The reply was normal considering the regular patrons of the establishment but Scarlet scowled at the girl none the less. After giving the girl another glance over Scarlet quietly brought her scarf back up to cover the lower portion of her face "I'd prefer it if you sat with the shit-head, I'm sure you'd get along brilliantly. I hear he does quite like" Her voice was cold and cutting. At the word 'brat' her brow furrowed but she quickly relaxed, not wanting to give much away.
After a few moments of scan a new set of arrivals, Scarlet turned her attention back to the girl. She didn't know her, which was odd for she knew just about everyone. All information is up for grabs in a place like this "Did you want something or did you just feel the need to bother me?" First you find their intentions "Name's Nox...you?" Then you find out their name. And you go from their.
Bo only snorted at the first comments and ate. She preferred the silence but the other brat seemed to want to talk instead. Bo glanced up and eyed her. She gave Nox her best shit-eating grin. "Maybe I just want to bother you, yeah? I do what I want." Then she took a few more bites.
"Name's Bo." The girl was probably fishing for information. Classic. "If you're wondering why you don't know me, it's cause I make sure it's like that, yeah? Fuck having a fancy reputation. Just puts a target on your back." She snorted, before pointing at a of with her utensil. "You with the guild? You look like the sort who'd jump right at an offer if they actually gave you one."

Bo. Where had she heard that name before? Scarlet racked her brain for any form of information she had on the girl before giving up. If she hadn't heard of her through any source, what was the interest? The girl appeared to have the same thoughts Nox had on the whole reputation thing, she knew first hand that certain information can kill.
Scarlet shook her head at the girl's question "Nah, they want a fucking cut of my profit. Plus who the fuck wants the guild keeping tabs on them?" This girl could be useful...probably "I'm assuming you ain't with the fuckwits then? You just steal as you please or you into more lucrative business?"
Bo snickered. This girl actually had the same line of thought Bo had. "That and they've got all these rules, yeah? Who the hell makes rules when we're thieves? We're all about breaking rules!" It was absolutely stupid. And she wasn't in it.
Why would she share her hard earned loot either?
"So no I'm not with the fuckwits. I steal what I want when I want." Anything was fair gain. Especially when she had nothing to lose. "What kind of lucrative business you talking about then? Plenty around here. Be more specific."

A rare smile twitched at the corner of Nox's mouth "I wouldn't say breaking rules, bending them to suit our needs might be better." She leaned forward, propping up arm to act as a rest for her chin. She might actually get along with this one.
Another smile twitched. The girl had taken interest in her offer, that was always a good sign "I was thinking something along the lines of buying and selling information. Helping to move certain 'goods'." Scarlet put her arm back down on the table "You interested or you got something better?"
Bo snickered. "Yeah, that might be better. Although some of them are just plain shit. Especially sharing loot." That was plain stupid to Bo. She only shared if she actually took on a partner.
Which might be what was happening.
"Information huh?" Bo knew that sort of game. She saw a lot of things. Heard a lot of conversations she shouldn't have. No one ever suspected the small ones. Bo leaned in and rested her elbows on the table. Her interest was actually piqued. "I might be interested. But that depends on the goods and the pay, yeah? So what you got?"

Scarlet scanned the crowd again, she was quite paranoid in this respect. Always thought someone was watching. That someone was after her, although there was some truth in that. She flicked her attention back at the girl "Yeah. Information. By goods I mean documents, you know...letters or packages can get lost by messengers...they mix up the addresses...ledgers get mislaid...lost in a pile of receipts." Another smile curled at the corners of her mouth "And we can negotiate payment...I mean do you hope to a 'prime investor' in this lucrative business or is just part time? I guess I'm asking how much can you be trusted not to fuck me over like some fucking noble cunt?"
The girl propped her arm back up and leaned a bit further in, burning the girl's features in her mind. If she decided to cross her at any point it'd be best if Scarlet could give an accurate description. Finally Scarlet focused on her eyes "Well?"
That sort of business. It wasn't exactly her forte, but about had found herself in the possession of "missing" letters or packages before. Her lips curled into a smirk of her own. "You can trust me not to fuck you over as long as you don't do it to me, yeah?" Almost all her failings came down to when she had an incompetent partner
In her own opinion anyway.
"So as long as the pay as good and you aren't too stupid, then we're good." She said before her expression went hard. "But rat me out or screw up, and I don't know you. Or I'll find you again and stick you like a pig." Bo leaned back in her chair.

Scarlet decided she was going to like this one. The two of them seemed to have the same thoughts on partners "Good...now we have something else to discuss, your name...I mean is it really the mark you want leave etched in someone's mind? So no real names whilst your working with me...that is until I can fully trust you, okay?" Scarlet studied the girl again. She didn't look the type to rat her out, no those ones were always nervous and panicky.
After a final going over, Scarlet leaned backwards "So you got any ideas for your new identity?"
A new name? Bo's face scrunched up at the thought. It made a little bit of sense, but it seemed more ridiculous to her than smart. Why would she need a secret name if she wasn't going to get caught? "Why should I care what mark I leave on someone's mind? I don't want to leave any mark. That way I don't get caught, yeah?"
She rolled her eyes. "But sure, I'll make up a name." Although she had to think about one. Not "Shade" or something predictable like that. Everyone always picked the dark colors for thieves. Why not go the opposite? "Red." She decided on. "Call me Red. I'm not making up some dumb ass name like 'Shadow Walker' or something." Red was short and to the point.

Scarlet raised one eyebrow when Bo scrunched her face. Did she have a problem with a layer of secrecy? At least she had the right idea about leaving as little of information at any scene of the crime. It was perhaps childish of Scarlet to use a code-name but she needed one to avoid any information about who she truly was coming out.
Her smile grew larger and she nodded, a snort escaping as she commented on shit names "You're right, but some people just can't imagine why that would get a laugh...Red...I like it." She leaned forward once more "So...since we are now going to be dealing together is there anything you wish to ask me?"
Bo snickered. "There's got to be hundred of stupid 'Shadow walkers' and 'Death Whisperers' out there. All trying to make some big statement and seem tuff." Names didn't scare Bo. She could laugh at anyone's name, especially when they deserved it. Actions were what held weight.
"Yeah I've got a question." Bo quickly ate the rest of her food. She wasn't about to let it rot further. "This sort of shit we're aquiring, yeah? Who is it going to? And what kinds of information are we going after?" She wanted to know the details of whatever mischief she was getting into. There wasn't much that could turn her away, but still. "Is it some idiot's business ledger? Or just exchanges between nobles?"

Scarlet let loose another laugh"They don't know the first thing about scaring someone shitless" It was true most thieves were very stupid at times.
"We collect whatever a client asks for. Or we fuck with people. Blackmail them." She drummed her fingers on the table "We go after all interesting information, anything we can use. Yah get me? We maybe some dirt on a slimy merchant and shake him down a bit. Maybe deal with a few noble fucks who are trying to advance themselves. Or we fuck with some of the criminals here. Sometimes we deal with a guard pining for a promotion and give them some info on someone causing us trouble."
She was glad the girl had a keen interest in this type of work and that the girl had the same humour as her.
